How Often Should You Deep Clean Your Home in the UAE?

How often deep cleaning is needed depends on your household, but for most UAE homes a professional deep clean every three to six months, with regular cleaning in between, keeps things under control. Homes with pets, young children, allergies or a lot of dust coming in may need it more often; a lightly used flat with good weekly upkeep may need it less. Here's how to work out the right rhythm for yours.

Why UAE homes build up faster

  • Fine dust and sand get in through balcony doors, window gaps and on shoes, especially after windy or hazy days.
  • AC running most of the year keeps air moving, so dust settles on grilles, high surfaces and the tops of wardrobes.
  • Hard water leaves limescale on taps, shower glass and tiles faster than weekly wiping removes it.
  • Heat and humidity encourage mould in bathrooms without good ventilation.
  • Closed-up homes during the hot months mean less fresh air and more settled dust.

How often deep cleaning makes sense: a practical guide

Your householdConsider a deep clean
One or two adults, good weekly cleaning, no petsEvery six months or so
Family with childrenEvery three to four months
Pets in the homeEvery two to three months, with pet-hair and odour areas checked
Allergies or asthma in the householdMore often; focus on dust, soft furnishings and AC grilles
Busy home, little regular cleaningEvery two to three months
Lightly used or holiday homeBefore you arrive and after a long closed period

These are starting points, not rules. If the home still looks and feels fresh at the three-month mark, wait. If limescale and grease are back after six weeks, book sooner.

One-off moments that call for a deep clean

  • Moving into a new home, before you unpack
  • Moving out, before the handover inspection
  • After renovation or building work nearby
  • After a heavy dust storm
  • Before Ramadan, Eid or guests staying
  • After someone in the home has been unwell
  • Returning from a long summer away

How often should house cleaning be done?

Deep cleaning works best alongside regular upkeep. A common pattern for regular house cleaning:

  • Daily: kitchen worktops and hob after cooking, dishes, a quick tidy, bins when full.
  • Weekly: bathrooms, floors, dusting, bed linen, kitchen sink and appliance fronts.
  • Monthly: skirting, doors and switches, inside the fridge, window tracks, AC filters, under furniture.

Our deep cleaning checklist covers what goes into the deeper sessions, room by room.

How often to book a house cleaning service

If you use a professional service, there are a few common approaches:

  • Deep clean only, every few months, doing the weekly cleaning yourself.
  • Regular weekly or fortnightly help, with a deep clean every few months to catch up on what regular visits don't reach.
  • Deep clean as needed, around moves, guests and dusty seasons.

The key point is that regular cleaning and deep cleaning do different jobs. Our guide to deep cleaning vs regular cleaning explains where one ends and the other starts.

Sign it's time: if your weekly clean no longer makes the home feel clean, with dust returning within a day, a sticky hood or cloudy shower glass that won't come clear, a deep clean will reset the baseline and make every regular clean afterwards easier.

Areas that need their own schedule

Some parts of the home have their own timing, separate from a general deep clean:

  • Sofas and carpets: more often in pet homes, or after spills and stains.
  • Mattresses: a professional clean every so often, especially with allergies.
  • AC ducts and coils: often once a year, or more with pets and allergies.
  • Curtains: they collect dust and odours; clean them when they look dull or smell stale.

Planning your year

A simple plan for many Sharjah homes is a deep clean before the hottest months, when the house will be closed up with the AC on, and another after summer, when dust has built up and people return from travel. Add one around a move or major occasion. For a wider look at what a professional visit includes, see our guide to house cleaning services in Sharjah.

When you're ready to book, Tip Top's deep cleaning starts from around AED 199 for a studio, roughly AED 299–599 for a 1–2 bedroom apartment and AED 999+ for villas, confirmed after a free assessment.
