How to Choose a Cleaning Company in Sharjah: 10 Questions to Ask First
There are many cleaning services in Sharjah, and most of them promise "professional" and "affordable". The way to tell them apart is to ask the right questions before you book. These ten will show you quickly whether a company is organised, accountable and a good fit for your home.
1. Is the price fixed, or hourly?
Hourly rates look cheap, but the total depends on how many hours the job takes and how fast the cleaner works. A fixed price for a defined scope is easier to compare and to hold the company to. If a company quotes hourly, ask for an estimate of total hours for your property.
2. What exactly is included?
Ask for the checklist. "Deep cleaning" should cover things like descaling bathrooms, degreasing the kitchen, and wiping skirting, switches, doors and cabinet fronts. If the company can't tell you what's included, you can't check whether it was done. Use our deep cleaning checklist as a reference.
3. Will you assess the home before giving a final price?
A quote without seeing the property, either in person or through photos, is a guess. Companies that assess first are less likely to add charges on the day.
4. Who will come to my home?
Ask whether the staff are employed and trained by the company, and whether they're background-checked. You're letting people into your home, possibly when you're not there.
5. What products do you use?
This matters most if you have children, pets, allergies or asthma at home. Ask whether products are low-odour and non-toxic, and whether anything needs time to dry before a room is used.
6. Do you bring your own equipment and supplies?
Most professional companies do. Confirm it, especially for jobs that need specialist equipment such as sofa or carpet extraction.
7. How many people, and how long?
A company that sizes the team to the job can finish a deep clean in one visit. As a guide, most apartments take about 3–6 hours to deep clean, and larger villas can take most of a day.
8. What happens if something is missed?
This is one of the most revealing questions. A confident company will re-clean anything missed, free. Ask how you report it and how quickly they come back.
9. Are you insured?
Accidents happen: a scratched surface, a broken item. Ask whether the company carries insurance and how it handles damage claims.
10. How do I book and reach you?
Clear communication is a good sign. Can you book on WhatsApp? Do they confirm the time and price in writing? Will someone answer if the team is running late?
