Maid Service or Cleaning Company in Sharjah? How to Decide

When people in Sharjah search for a "maid service", they usually want one of two things: someone to keep the home tidy week to week, or someone to get it properly clean. Those are different jobs. An hourly maid service suits the first. A professional cleaning company suits the second. Plenty of households use both.

The two options

Hourly or part-time maid service

A cleaner comes for a set number of hours, often on a regular schedule, and works through whatever you ask: tidying, dusting, mopping, dishes, sometimes laundry and ironing. You pay by the hour.

Professional cleaning company

A trained team comes with its own equipment and products and works to a defined scope, such as a deep clean, a move-out clean, or sofa and carpet extraction. You pay a price agreed in advance for the result, not for the hours.

When a maid service makes sense

  • Your home is already in good shape and you want help keeping it that way.
  • You want flexible help with chores that aren't strictly cleaning, such as laundry or dishes.
  • You prefer to direct the work yourself, task by task.

When a cleaning company makes more sense

  • The home needs a reset: limescale, grease, dust in places nobody reaches week to week.
  • You're moving in or out and need the property handover-ready in a day.
  • You need sofa, mattress, carpet or curtain cleaning, which needs extraction equipment.
  • You have pets and need odour treatment for soft furnishings and litter areas.
  • You want a fixed price and a checklist you can hold someone to.

Looking at the real cost

An hourly rate is easy to compare, but it isn't the total. A deep clean done by one person over many hours can cost as much as a team finishing it in a single visit, and without the equipment. Compare the full price for the result you want.

As a guide, Tip Top's deep cleaning starts from around AED 199 for a studio, roughly AED 299–599 for a 1–2 bedroom apartment and AED 999+ for villas, confirmed after a quick assessment.

The combination many households use

A common pattern is a professional deep clean every few months, with lighter upkeep in between. The deep clean resets the home, which makes regular cleaning faster, whoever does it. Some households switch to a monthly professional visit instead. One of our clients did after we groomed their dogs and deep cleaned their apartment in the same visit.

Questions to ask either way

  • Are the people who come to my home trained and background-checked?
  • What products are used, and are they safe around children and pets?
  • What's included, and what isn't?
  • What happens if I'm not happy with the result?
